Speech and Language Therapy (SALT)

Speech and Language is key in the development of our children. It’s never too late to start talking!

Research suggests that early intervention and support can have beneficial results. Similar to the Looking Up support groups a number of Mum’s have got

together to train themselves in Makaton and share this learning with other members.

With thanks to funding from The National Lottery Awards for All CDSSG are currently running Speech & Language group sessions and working with individual families.

Our partnered Speech & Language Therapist professional is training in Symbol UK, specialist for Down’s Syndrome. We continue to involve both the parents and the children.

The sessions entail a number of activities; all of which are fun and valuable in developing communication, speech and social skills.
