Speech and Language Therapy (SALT)

Speech and Language is key in the development of our children. Research suggests that early intervention and support can have beneficial results.

Similar to the Looking Up support groups a number of Mum’s have got together to train themselves in Makaton and share this learning with other members.

We currently run group sessions for our Looking Up age members. These sessions are run by a Speech & Language professional and involve both the parents and the children. The sessions entail a number of activities; all of which are fun and valuable in developing communication, speech and social skills.

We are in the process of seeking funding to enable us to provide similar sessions for our Primary and Secondary school children.
