Our chair and vice chair Sandy & Angie of our very own Going To School team attended this event in Whitehall on Tuesday 11th October where an open letter with 900+ signatures was delivered to Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Dept of Health.
Angie was given a seat on the panel in Westminster to talk about the lived experience and family perspective of what it means to be told that your child has Down’s syndrome.
Angie was very proud to be on the panel and so honoured to share the lived experience and parental perspective of the reality of being given the diagnosis of ‘your baby has Down’s syndrome.’
Her message:
‘if I knew then, what I know now – I could’ve saved myself so many tears.’
‘if I knew then, what I know now – I could’ve saved myself so many tears.’
The whole event was a resounding success and we are proud to have played a tiny part along so many others.
All members of the Cornwall Downs syndrome support group would like to thank Angie and Sandy for representing us at the meeting.
