FUNDRAISING
All the above uses our rescources and we continually look for opportunity to fundraise. SALT, Weekend away , the looking up and moving forward groups Dance groups all take funding. WE are still the charity of the year for Marks and Spencer in Hayle but are struggeling to get members to help. If we could just get an hour from 12 families we could cover the whole day with 2 families in the foyer (M&S customers dont seem to like their shopping packed for them) Please come and help if you can. All dates are advertised on the website.
COMMITTEE
The committee of CDSSG is made up of 8 members all of whom are at different stages of parenting their own child with Downs Syndrome. We all work extremely hard in different ways to make our group the success it is. Some of us are more visable than others. But just becasue a committee member is not so visible this does not mean their contribution is not as valuable. At the AGM in March every member of the group is given the opportunity to join the committee. If you feel you can contribute to the work that we do and have a talent the committee can use please do volunteer. On the flip side if you would like to comment, praise or critisise anything we are doing please contact myself or any of the committee members and we will be happy to discuss the matter with you
Finally I want to say a huge thank you to EVERYONE involved in the Looking up Book and the Going to school book. That means the contributors, the fundraisers, the sellers, the people who pack them and send them out Everyone. The response has been overwhelming and we have sent or had enquiries from every continent.
The work continues………
