Moving Forward groups are a chance to chat and share experiences with other parents. Our children are always going through yet another transition, no matter what their ages and it’s good to talk!Anne Marie and Frank Gough
Moving Forward Support Groups
Moving Forward Groups offer a venue where parents can meet other parents and discuss any issues they may have regarding their children during the next stages of their child’s development.
Siblings are also welcomed and the support groups also provide a great opportunity for siblings to meet with and connect with other siblings, particularly as sessions are run through the school holidays.
Meeting with other parents is a great way to listen to the experiences of others and to obtain advice and guidance. Quite often another parent may have a valuable snippet of information to ease that next step.
(Please note these meetings quite often run during school time and parents are equally welcome with or without their children depending on availability This can be particularly beneficial as children grow older and may not be as enthusiastic to attend meetings!!).
Due to the geography of the county and the demand for monthly support groups some of our sessions are tailored for both “Looking Up” and “Moving Forward” families to attend.
Moving Forward is still a fairly new group, but it is a real help to be able to talk to other parents who have children over five and starting school.Sara and Steve
